Got off to a decent start with my week 1 predictions with a 3-2 record, now it is time for week 2.
Showcase Station v Titletown FFFL
Just about the only spot that Showcase Station holds the advantage is QB. I like Titletown in this matchup 130 - 110.
TheChunkyMonkeys v Outlawz
My prediction for this game....Pain......for Outlawz. He is outmached at every position other than RB. Final score 120-105.
Hokamania v PJ's Crushers
This matchup looks close at first glance. I like Hokamania in a close one based on the strength of his receivers and a much better week out of Matt Ryan. Final score 120 - 116
Wholelotta54 v Irish Rovers
Wholelotta has the advantage at every position aside from RB, but I don't like the matchups for Irish Rovers runingbakcs this week. Wholelotta in a landslide 130 - 95.
Now for the matchup of the week....
Restore the Roar v Kenny Powers MFCEO
Restore the Roar has taken the FFFL by storm in his first week. Kenny Powers keeps it close, but not close enough with a banged up roster. Restore the Roar in a close one, 130-128.
Week 1 Record: 3-2
Season Record: 3-2

Week 1 Predictions
Every Thursday night I will have my weekly predictions in with a little synopsis of each matchup.
Showcase Station v Outlawz
Outlawz has a huge edge at RB but it won't be enough to offset the slight edge that Showcase Station has at every other positions. Showcase Station pulls this one out 106 - 102.
TheChunkyMonkeys v Restore the Roar
While TheChunkyMonkeys have a slight advantage at WR and TE, it won't be enough to counter Restore the Roar's receiving corp. This is where Restore the Roar wins the game, 125 -100.
Hokamania v Irish Rovers
The strength of Irish Rovers RBs are not enough to pull out this matchup. Hokamania in a landslide 115 - 95.
WholeLotta54 v Titletown FFFL
Drew Brees and Ray Rice keep the game close for Titletown FFFL, but in the end the strength of WholeLotta54 is too much. WholeLotta 120 - 110
Kenny Powers MFCEO v PJ's Crushers
The strength of Kenny Powers' WR corp coupled with the injury to Arian Foster is enough for Kenny Powers to pull this one out. Final score is 118 - 110.
Showcase Station v Outlawz
Outlawz has a huge edge at RB but it won't be enough to offset the slight edge that Showcase Station has at every other positions. Showcase Station pulls this one out 106 - 102.

FFFL Profiles: Pat Furlong (Dad)
Last, but not least in the FFFL Profiles series is Pat Furlong. Pat is a founding member of the FFFL as well as the FFFL's CFO. He runs the daily financial operations of the FFFL. He claims to be the best regular season player in the FFFL but upon further review that is an aberation. He is usually in the playoffs every year, but usually makes a quick exit having never finished higher than 4th. But, he helps make the league go round. As you can see from the pictures he knows how to have a good time.

FFFL Profiles: Bill Waack
Today's profile features Bill Waack. Owner and CEO of Wellington Fragrance. Bill has been in the FFFL since 2007 and has finished in the top three two different times. Besides fantasy football, Bill loves the Tigers, Lions, Michigan and being a hard line conservative. If you want to get under his skin say something positive about Obama. Luckily him and I see eye to eye on that issue. The following photo is from Opening Day 2008 where he pushed three 5 year olds down to get this foul ball. I witnessed the whole thing. He is on the left. Oh, I meant in the picture.

FFFL Profile: Kevin Thompson
Kevin Thompson. Not sure what to say. He has been in the league since 2007 when we knew he was in the family to stay. Now that him and Kelly (my sister) are engaged there is no getting rid of him. Kevin always seems to be at the top of the league in points, but that doesn't often translate into wins for him. He did have a nice run in 2008 when he lost to the eventual champion in the semifinals.
A few things. I am not sure why a police officer takes the name Outlawz? Also, it is obvious this picture was taken while he was on duty. Nice use of tax payer dollars officer.

FFFL Profiles: Tim Delaney
This installment looks at original FFFL member Tim Delaney. Worked with Pat at Neopost. One of the original members of the FFFL. No picture is available because I never received one. He is a former FFFL Champion winning the league in 2007. I Like to call him silent but deadly. Silent because he barely says anything on the league page. Deadly because his teams usually are pretty good.

FFFL Profiles: Chris Furlong
Chris entered the FFFL with a bang back in 2003 winning the FFFL Championship. Since then, well, not so much of a bang.
Since then he is known for getting violated in trades and making some of the worst draft picks in FFFL history. Can anyone say drafting Deion Branch in the 2nd round when he was holding out in New England? He is also the biggest MSU slappy this side of East Lansing. Sparty on! As you can see from the picture, Chris is still a sore "winner". In the beginning we used to hand out green ribbons for winning the FFFL instead of a trophy. On a side note, yes that is me in the background. No, I was not in charge of dressing myself.

FFFL Profiles: Brian Marzolino
Today we will be focusing on one of the most dominating owners in the FFFL, Brian Marzolino.
When you are the FFFL Champion you get as many pictures as you want. Upon entering the FFFL in 2006 Brian proceeded to win the FFFL Championship as a rookie. He then went on to win back to back FFFL cahmpionships in 2009 and 2010. He is looking to make it a threepeat in 2011. Good luck Brian, you are the hunted.

FFFL Profiles: Andrew Piskorowski
This installment of FFFL Profiles will feature one of the two newest members of the FFFL, Andrew Piskorowski. Member of the BAFD. Graduate of the University of Michigan. He likes to go by Andy or the moniker, APisko.
In the time that I have known him, I have learned that he loves his sports. What I do not know is his fantasy football prowess. He has already made a comment about his name being able to fit on the trophy, so he likes to throw some trash out there. When he started receiving the first league emails with trash talk he said to me, "this is my type of league". We'll find out if you can hang in the FFFL APisko. We will find out.

FFFL Profiles: Ed Montgomery
Today we will be profiling one of the original members of the FFFL, Ed Montgomery. When asked if he would like to be part of a new up and coming fantasy football league Ed was reluctant. With a little pressure from Pat Furlong, Ed relented and told Pat to create him a Yahoo id. He forgot about the draft and was saved by a last minute phone call from Pat. Since then he has gone on to win an FFFL Championships and has placed in the top 3 numerous times.
Ed is known for his secret "websites" that help him conduct fantasy research and the "websites" some how rank each position of each team in the FFFL. Mysteriously, his team is always at the top of each position ranking. In his early years he could talk trash with the best of them. Lately he has been on the sidelines, but the infusion of some new blood has seemingly brought out the best in his trash talk. Hopefully this will continue. Ed is also the Brett Favre of the FFFL, having retired numerous times, only to return.
Disclaimer: the following quotation is Ed's write up on himself, try not to laugh.
" Be sure to mention I’ve run 7 marathons, won 3 Northern Exposures, FFFL championships, 2 Marzolino Golf Classic championships. You also may want to highlight you NEVER took me down in our wrestling matches, not through grade school and not through high school. A street should be named after me!!"

FFFL Profiles: Rob Furlong
As the blog relaunches for the much anticipated 2011 season, we will be doing a profile on each member of the FFFL. Today’s profile is on none other than FFFL commissioner, Rob Furlong.
Rob is the founder and commissioner of the FFFL. What started as a dream in the 2001 season has become a phenomenon. Rob is known for his flamboyant team names and love of the waiver wire. Rob is a former FFFL Champion having gone wire to wire in 1st place in 2008. He has also finished in second place twice and third place once. Rob vows to regain the Furlong Trophy in the 2011 season.
